Dana Bright

Dana Bright was a four-time All-Gulf South Conference pick and a 1990-91 Kodak All-American after finishing her four-year career as the Gamecocks’ all-time leading scorer with 2,128 points. She also holds the school record for most field goal attempts in a career (1,547) and most free throws made during a career (594). Dana also holds several season records, including most free throws made with 209 during the 1990-91 season and most free throw attempts with 259 during the 1990-91 season. A four-year starter, she led the Gamecocks to an impressive 98-22 record, which included four trips to the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament. The Gamecocks advanced to the South Regional in 1990 after Bright scored 20 or more points 12 times. The Spring Garden, Ala., native finished her senior season averaging 21.3 points and leading JSU into the Division II quarterfinals. She led the team in scoring 18 times during her senior season, including a career-high 35 points against North Alabama. She served as Jacksonville State’s women’s basketball head coach from 1993-2003, where she earned Atlantic Sun Conference Coach of the Year honors in 1997.
