Dieter Block (’73), who led the Los Angeles Rams to the National Football Conference Western Division title and within one game of the Super Bowl, set a new LA record for passing accuracy in his first year (1985) in the league. Brock played 11 years in the Canadian League before signing with the Rams. During that time, he passed for 34,830 yards and broke numerous CFL records. For his efforts, Brock was named the Schenley Trophy (MVP player in Canada) winner in 1980 and 1981in addition to making the all-star team three times. Brock, who engineered JSU to a record 35.4 scoring average during his senior season, played in the Senior Bowl before signing with the Winnipeg Bluebombers. In 1984, Brock directed Hamilton to the Gray Cup finals of the Year in 1982 by the Alabama Sports Writers Association.
