Jim Glasgow, a rugged tackle who started on both offense and defense, was voted All-America in 1957 after a standout season for Coach Don Salls. A four-year letterman, Glasgow was the first Gamecock to play in the Blue-Gray Classic post-season game in Montgomery. After that game, he signed a professional contract with Montreal of the Canadian League. JacksonvilleState posted a 6-2-1 record in 1957, posting four shutouts. His teammates voted him team captain in both 1958 and 1959.
