BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Jacksonville State senior Rebecca Haynes was named All-Ohio Valley Conference second-team, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Haynes, a native of Birkdale, Australia, played in all 28 games this season and led the Gamecocks with a 13.6 scoring average and 6.3 rebounds per contest.
She recorded 17 starts and scored a career-high 30 points against Eastern Illinois on February 2nd and scored in double-figures 21 times during the season.
Tennessee Tech senior center Emily Christian was chosen as the 2005-06 Ohio Valley Conference women's basketball Player of the Year in voting by the league's head coaches and sports information directors. Samford's Mike Morris was named OVC Coach of the Year while Eastern Illinois forward Rachel Galligan was picked as the OVC Freshman of the Year.
