COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Jacksonville State Rifle team shot its way to its eighth straight win on Saturday, defeating Tennessee Tech 4642-4460 on Saturday.
Jacksonville State tallied 2308 points to Tech's 2198 in the smallbore and then totaled 2334 points to 2262 in the air rifle to secure the victory. The Gamecocks' 4642 points puts the team in good position for a slot in the NCAA Nationals in February.
“The team has a certain momentum going for it right now,” said Head Coach Ron Frost. “I hope this momentum can continue throughout the season.”
Andrea Dardas targeted a personal best 591 in the air rifle competition while teammate Michael Dickinson was just behind with a 590. Matt MacKenzie also fired a personal best score of 583.
