KIRCHHEIM UNTER TECK, GERMANY – Former Jacksonville State star
Kayne Henry has signed his first professional contract, joining the Kirchheim Knights of Germany's ProA division.
Henry, a 6-foot-7 forward out of London, England, spent three seasons with the Gamecocks. He averaged just under 10 points during his 89 career games, shooting 49-percent from the field and 35-percent from long range. Last season as a senior, he finished second on the team with 173 rebounds while helping JSU win the ASUN Conference championship and earn a berth into the NCAA Tournament.
He will join the Kirchheim club for the 2022-23 season, however, the British standout is currently competing for Team England at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Henry starred at the junior level for Great Britain with consecutive summers at the Under-20 European Championship. His new team, the Knights, share the same nickname of the opponent his collegiate high scoring came against after he put 24 points on Bellarmine last January inside Pete Mathews Coliseum.
Henry is the latest former Gamecock to sign a new deal.
Jason Burnell (2017-19), recently signed with Italy's Enel Brindisi for the 2022-23 season, which will mark his fourth year in the Italian Lega Basket Serie A. His previous two seasons were with Banco di Sardegna Sassari.
