OXFORD, Miss. – The Jacksonville State rifle team tuned up for its NCAA Qualifier match next weekend in Jacksonville by firing its second-highest overall mark of the season on Sunday in a neutral setting against Murray State on the University of Mississippi campus.
The Gamecocks combined a 2368 in air rifle and a 2310 in smallbore for a 4678, which is one mark off of the season-best mark of 4679 that Jax State posted in early January against The Citadel at the Gamecock Rifle Range inside Rowe Hall on the JSU campus. The Racers, a former OVC rival of Jax State, finished with a 4718. MSU tallied a 2344 in smallbore and a 2374 in air rifle.
Jax State was led by junior
Kim Jettenberg's total of 1172 on Sunday, finishing sixth on the individual list. Jettenberg turned in a 590 in air rifle and a 582 in smallbore. Sophomore
Sam Burrow finished behind Jettenberg with an 1168 with a 592 in air rifle and a 576 in smallbore.

Lars Lilleng, sophomore
Angus Babcock and freshman
Annie Iannotti rounded out the Gamecock scores. Lilleng posted an 1165, followed by Babcock's 1163. Iannotti recorded Jax State's top air rifle score with a 594 to bolster her final score of 1161.
The Gamecocks will host one of the NCAA Rifle Championship Qualifier match next weekend at the Gamecock Rifle Range.
