Jax State women's golf team took 15th at the Golf Iconic Classic in Las Cruces, New Mexico in their third of four fall tournaments.
The Gamecocks posted a three-day, 54-hole total of 891 with the best score of the week coming in Tuesday's second round with a three-over 291.
"We started to see a lot of bright spots throughout the week, but we just have to be able to put it all together and complete our rounds," said coach Robbie Fields.
Rebekka Stutley was the top finisher on the roster in a tie for 15th at even par for the week. Following a two-over 74 on Monday, the sophomore had five birdies and posted 70 on Tuesday with a 72 in the final round.
"Bekky's play this week was very encouraging and I am very proud of her for that," said Fields.
She finished tied for fifth in the field in Par 5 scoring at 4.58.
Senior Ebby Somers tied for 46th with a six-over total with rounds of 74, 73, and 75. Freshman Julie Kleppe was tied for 70th at 11-over (76-74-77), carding an eagle in windy conditions on Tuesday on the 500-yard Par 5 fourth hole.
Junior Rachel Camp tied for 79th at 13-over (75-74-80) and sophomore Lara El Chaib tied for 88th at 16-over (73-79-80).
"I believe that good things are ahead for this team, and we get another opportunity next week to finish the fall season."
The Gamecocks will wrap up their fall at The Ally, hosted by Mississippi State starting on Monday.
