Tailgating Regulations
Tailgating on campus will be permitted with social distance guidelines in place. Face coverings will be required while tailgating when not eating or drinking.
The designated tailgating area is located in the lawn in front of Theron Montgomery Building on Hwy. 21 and is called The Roost. Tailgating spots are limited and can be reserved by calling 256-782-5557 in advance. Dillon Field, located off Forney Avenue near the Football Field House, is available for tailgating on a first-come-first-serve basis in 2020.Â
Reserving tailgating spots in grass areas using stakes, ropes, ribbons, tape, chairs, tables, tents, vehicles or other items is not allowed until 7 a.m. on Saturday, except for specially permitted University events. Items found before then are subject to removal without notice or reimbursement. Vehicles are not allowed inside areas enclosed by bollards, posts, chains or fences.
RV parking will be allowed with the appropriate parking pass and will remain in the RV parking area.
Per university policy, all campus buildings are closed on game days except those designated by the university to be open.
A number of campus construction projects are under way. Please observe and follow signs in these areas.
It is unlawful to use any university utilities. Tents with stakes shorter than 12-inches may be set up after 7Â a.m. on Saturdays.
Special permits are required for outdoor entertainment events with amplified sound. Permit requests must be submitted at least 14 days in advance and must include a list of required information for the request to be approved. Requests should be made to 256-782-5279. The outdoor entertainment permit will specify the location and other requirements to ensure that the event is conducted in a safe manner. If the event also requires a tent with stakes 12-inches or longer, a tent permit must be obtained from 256-782-5279. Special event permits are not site reservations.
Generators and grills are not allowed within 50 feet of campus buildings or in other designated no-grill areas. All fires must be contained within grills or other containers designed specifically for that purpose. Extinguish charcoal fires thoroughly with water before leaving them unattended. Place extinguished charcoal in proper containers and please it from campus. Do not dump charcoal on the ground or in dumpsters.
Please keep Jacksonville State University beautiful by placing all trash and recycling in the proper bins before you leave your tailgate area.
