JUNIOR COLLEGE: Played for Dan Toresa at Hartnell Junior College in Salinas, California.was named first-team all-conference and was a second team All-Northern California selection after leading the Panthers into the playoffs in the 2000 season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped for Al Ferrera at North Monterey County High School.was a two-time all-conference and all-league selection.had his best prep game by tossing a three-hitter and went 5-for-5 with a home run at the plate.
