Gamecocks hand Troy State first league loss

JACKSONVILLE--Jacksonville's Radka Dimitrova had 18 kills and 15 digs to lead the Dolphins over Jacksonville State, Friday night at Pete Mathews Coliseum.

Jax State overcame a 15-8 deficit in the first game of the match to win, 30-27, but JU won three consecutive games, 30-22, 30-27 and 30-28 to win the Atlantic Sun Conference match and improve its' record to 9-11 overall and 4-3 in the A-Sun.

JSU was led by freshman Kisha West with 16 kills, while junior Jennifer Brenneman had 16 digs defensively. Junior Christina Cary added 12 kills for the Gamecocks hitting .348 on the night and Sarah Taylor had ten.

Brooke Ahrens had ten kills for the Dolphins and Kristy Smith added 15 digs.

JSU will host Stetson Saturday at 7 p.m.
