JSU Golf Headed to East Regional

Macon, Ga.--Jacksonville State's Janae Bonin leads the Gamecocks on the Atlantic Sun All-Conference list. Bonin has been named First Team All-Conference for both the designated player spot and the infield, the league office announced today.

"Anyone who followed our team this year knows how instrumental Janae has been for us," said JSU head coach Jana McGinnis. "I feel she had to have been a contender for player of the year."

Bonin led JSU in most all of the offensive categories at the end of the regular season, batting .380, with 11 homeruns and 11 doubles. At second base, she had only one error in 13 games. She also chalked up two homeruns and five RBI in game one at Troy State earlier this year.

Breanne Oleman, a 2002 All-Freshman selection, was named Second Team All-Conference for her duties in the outfield.

Oleman ended the regular season batting .313 in league play and had nine homeruns overall and ten doubles.

"I?ve always said that Breezy (Oleman) is one of our best athletes," said McGinnis. "She does anything we ask of her. She pitches, she can plays in the outfield and she can also play in the infield. I am proud of both her and Janae."

JSU will play Florida Atlantic, Thursday at 11 a.m. in Troy, Ala. in the first day of the A-Sun Conference Tournament action.
