Gamecocks Move to No. 13 in Latest I-AA Football Poll

Jacksonville--Jacksonville State won the Gamecock Rifle Invitational this past weekend at Rowe Hall with its' best aggregate scores of the 2004-05 season, 4685. JSU defeated Tennessee Tech and Memphis, who were also competing in the team aggregate score. The Gamecocks had the top two individual smallbore scores, as well as the top three in air rifle.
James Hall finished first in smallbore with a 591, followed by Joseph Hall only one point behind with a score of 590. Kari Baldwin and Joseph Hall led the Gamecocks in air rifle with a 592, while James Hall scored a 591.
Top competitors from other Collegiate Competition were Beth Tidmore from Memphis, who was fourth in smallbore (577) and fifth in air rifle with a 589.
"Our performance puts us one step closer to achieving what many consider to be the impossible - toppling the supposedly unbeatable rifle team fielded by Alaska-Fairbanks," said JSU head coach Ron Frost. "It shows that they are within our range, and the team sees that the possibility is there."
