JACKSONVILLE -- The Jacksonville Stae University (7-20, 4-14 OVC) women's basketball team will begin its final home stand of the season Thursday night as it plays host Eastern Illinois at 5 p.m. inside Pete Mathews Coliseum.
The game will be a rematch of a double overtime thriller on February 1 won by the Gamecocks 103-98. Freshman Jolie Efezokhae knocked down a 3-pointer from the top of the key as time expired to send the game into overtime and JSU proved to be too much in the second extra frame. Efezokhae finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds for her second career double-double.
EIU will enter the game still in contention for the final OVC Tournament berth. The Panthers trail EKU by one game with two regular season games remaining.
JSU will conclude its regular season Saturday when it battles conference-leading Southeast Missouri at 5 p.m. JSU will honor its seniors prior to the start of the game. Both games this weekend can be heard on the JSU Sports Network, with airtime at 4:45 p.m.
