The 2007 season marks the first for Jeff Burrow at Jacksonville State following a two-year stint as a defensive graduate assistant at Notre Dame. He will coach wide receivers for Jack Crowe this year.
While coaching at Notre Dame for Charlie Weiss, Burrow worked on the defensive side of the ball, assisting with all aspects of the defense and working specifically with defensive backs coach Bill Lewis.
A native of Sylvester, Ga., Burrow comes to Notre Dame after serving as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Minnesota under head coach Glen Mason in 2003 and 2004. Prior to working at Minnesota, Burrow served one season (2002) as defensive backs coach at Greenville (IL) College where he coached defensive backs under head coach Scotty Kessler, in addition to serving as the team's strength and conditioning coach.
As a player, Burrow was a two-year starter at cornerback at the University of Cincinnati. He attended Cincinnati from 1995-99, where he was a four-year letterman under then-head coach Rick Minter (former Notre Dame's defensive coordinator). He signed as a free agent with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League in 2000.
Burrow earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati in 1999, and a master's degree in education from the University of Minnesota in 2004. Born July 17, 1976, Burrow is married to the former Janea Coleman.
