SAN ANTONIO, Texas – After a day of site seeing on Wednesday and a team Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, Jacksonville State got back to business wrapping up preparations for UTSA Thanksgiving Classic that starts on Friday at the UTSA Convocation Center.
The Gamecocks will open play against Western Illinois on Friday at 5 p.m. before closing the tournament against host Texas-San Antonio on Saturday at 4 p.m.
Jacksonville State is searching for its first win of the season, entering the weekend with a 0-4 record. The Gamecocks fell to eighth ranked Baylor 104-45 on Tuesday in Waco, Texas.

Zenobia Pitts has been the on floor leader so far averaging at team-high 11.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. Freshman
Karisma Boykin averages 7.3 points and is the top free throw shooter at 88.9 percent.
Western Illinois is 1-3 on the season following a 74-44 loss at South Alabama on Monday. Erica Lewis is scoring 12.3 points per game while Ashley Lord is grabbing 8.3 rebounds per game to lead the Leathernecks.
Texas-San Antonio will play Navy in its first game of the tournament. The defending Southland Conference champions are 2-2 on the season after a 62-45 loss at the College of Charleston last Saturday.
The Roadrunners have three players averaging in double figures. Judy Jones is the leader with 13.5 points per game followed by Amber Gregg's 12.3 points per game and Whitney York's 10.8 points per game. Ashley Franklin averages a team-best 10.5 rebounds per game while Jones pulls down 8.5 boards per contest.
