
Jax State Football Ranked in Top 25 in FCS Polls

Jacksonville State moved up in both Top 25 football polls on Monday after claiming a 45-13 road win over previously unbeaten Alabama A&M on Saturday.
The Gamecocks (1-2) are ranked No. 21 in the FCS Coaches Poll, and ranked No. 22 in The Sports Network Poll. JSU has been ranked in the polls every week this season and has been ranked for 10 weeks since the 2008 season.
Defending FCS champion Richmond remained first in both polls, while Villanova remained second in both polls.
Ohio Valley Conference member Eastern Kentucky is ranked No. 22 in the FCS Coaches Poll and No. 20 in The Sports Network Poll, while Eastern Illinois is ranked No. 24 in The Sports Network Poll. UT Martin, Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech each received votes in The Sports Network poll.
The Gamecocks travel to Thibodaux, La., on Saturday for a showdown with Nicholls State. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. CT, and the game will be a homecoming of sorts for Perrilloux, who grew up within a half hour of the NSU campus.
