BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Jacksonville State sophomore Quim Vidal Mora has been named the Ohio Valley Conference's Male Golfer of the Week for his efforts in leading the Gamecocks at Kiawah Island.
 
Vidal Mora tied for 11^th in the 117-player field at the East Bay Deli Classic on Tuesday, leading the OVC to name him the league's top golfer for the week on Wednesday.
 
The native of Barcelona, Spain, shot a 54-hole 218 that was ignited by a 4-under 68 in the opening round on the par-72, 6,911-yard Turtle Point Golf Course. The opening round was just one shot off of his career low and set the tone for the rest of the week for the 2018 OVC All-Newcomer Team member.
 
Vidal Mora answered a second-round 77 with a final-round 73 on Tuesday that moved him two spots up the leaderboard and also led the Gamecocks to a sixth-place finish in the 21-team event. The 11^th-place finish is his second-best of the fall, which concluded for the JSU men at the event.
 
When the spring season begins, Vidal Mora and his teammates will begin their quest for a third-straight OVC Crown. The 2018-19 schedule will wrap up April 21-23 at the OVC Championships at The Shoals on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Muscle Shoals, Ala.
