
Men’s Golf Has Four Honored by Conference USA

DALLAS—Jax State had two All-Conference USA honorees and two more selected to the All-Freshman team today when the league announced its postseason men's golf honors.
Earning Third-Team All-Conference USA accolades were Ryley Heath and Stanley Campbell.
Heath earned third-team honors for the second consecutive season after posting a 71.78 scoring average. The Decatur, Ala. native led the team in total pars with 366 and was second in birdies with 113. He was also the best Par 4 player on the team at an average of 4.03. Heath had three Top 10s, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Ironwood Collegiate Classic when he was nine-under for 54 holes. He also took seventh at the Conference USA Championship at -7.
In his first season with the Gamecocks, Campbell led the team in birdies with 115 and eagles with five. Campbell had four Top 10 finishes, highlighted by winning the Bash in the Boro in a playoff. He was -10 during the Bash in the Boro and was under par in each of his first four tournaments at Jax State. He also took third at the Seminole Intercollegiate and was named the Conference USA Golfer of the Week.
Will Drake and Tyler Neidel were both selected to the all-freshman team.
Drake was under par in three tournaments this year including the Conference USA Championship where he took 19th in the field. He was the medalist at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate, going eight-under for 54 holes. The Cullman native was under par in his debut at the Argent Financial Classic and took 22nd in the field.
Neidel was fifth at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate at four-under for fifth place, which was on the heels of posting even-par at the Seminole Intercollegiate and placing seventh. The native of Austin, Texas had 46 birdies in 15 rounds this season.
