OXFORD, Ala. – The Jacksonville State women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Eastern Kentucky on Friday at the Oxford Sports Complex.

The Gamecocks (10-4, 3-3 OVC) fell to the conference-leading Colonels (10-8, 5-0 OVC) in a hard-fought battle that saw JSU take two singles points.

Alba Conejero and
Marine Alberteau each scored individual wins on Friday. Conejero picked up a win over Lisa Friess at No. 5 (6-3, 7-5), while Alberteau downed Margaux Lacroix 7-6, 6-0 at No. 6.

Despite the wins, they came too late as EKU was able to take an early 1-0 lead with the doubles points and claimed the first four singles competitions in a row.

The Gamecocks wrap up their home slate with a 10 a.m. match against Southeast Missouri on April 7. The contest is scheduled to be played at the Oxford Sports Complex.
