NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Jacksonville State women's tennis team earned a 5-2 win over Belmont on Friday at Nashville's Centennial Sportsplex.

The Gamecocks (12-4, 5-3 OVC) sit in fourth place in the Ohio Valley Conference standings with one match to play in the regular season, while Belmont (7-14, 3-6 OVC) dropped to seventh place with the loss.

Senior
Genevie Ulanday, the reigning OVC Player of the Week, earned her second-consecutive win on Friday, and
Alba Conejero extended her team-best win streak to 10 matches.

JSU picked up the day's first point with back-to-back set wins in doubles. Ulanday and
Alba Conejero won at No. 1 (6-2) over Drew Hawkins and Erin Allen, while
Malin Buechner and Conejero topped Mari Plaksina and Terra Sheldon (6-4) at No. 2.

Conejero got the singles scoring started with a win at No. 5 over Sheldon (6-0, 6-0), and
Diana Monsalve earned a 6-2, 6-1 win against Sarah Brackin at No. 4.

Tendero's win (6-2, 6-2) against Allen at No. 2 was the deciding point, and Ulanday finished up the day with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Plaksina at No. 1.

The Gamecocks go into the final match of the season Saturday, April 14 in search of a win over Tennessee State. The contest against the Tigers is set for 2 p.m.
