NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Jacksonville State men's tennis team dropped a tough 4-3 decision to Tennessee Tech on Saturday in the second round of the Ohio Valley Conference Championships at the Centennial Sportsplex, bringing an end to the Gamecocks' season.

The match came down to the No. 2 singles matchup between
Pablo Caffarena and Wenceslao Albin. With the match tied 3-3, Caffarena took the first set 6-3 to give the Gamecocks (15-5) an early advantage, but Albin rallied back with set scores of 7-5 and 6-2 to claim the victory for TTU (9-11).

Tennessee Tech took the first point of the day in doubles action.
Andres Gomez and
Guillermo Agost won 6-3 at No. 1 doubles, but the Golden Eagles managed twice as many set wins to take the early lead.

The Gamecocks picked up three singles competitions to tie the match 3-3 with the No. 2 match still underway.
Joaquin Vallejo snagged his team-best 14th win with a victory at No. 3, and
Guillermo Agost tallied back-to-back 6-1 sets at No. 4.
Sergio Lizarraga provided the last JSU point with a win over Riku Kubota at No. 5 (6-3, 7-6).
