
Jettenberg Leads JSU Rifle in Home Opener

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State rifle team shot at it home range for the first time on Saturday, posting another solid score over The Citadel at the Gamecock Rifle Range inside Rowe Hall.
In the third meeting with the Bulldogs, the Gamecocks combined for a 4667. The Citadel finished with a 4535 and The Citadel women's team posted a 4324. Jax state fired a 2353 in air rifle and a 2314 in smallbore.
Sophomore Kim Jettenberg turned in the best aggregate mark with an 1175. She registered a 589 in air rifle and added a match-best 586 in smallbore. Sophomore Lars Lilleng finished second with an 1166. Lilleng was second in smallbore with a 579 and wrapped up the day with a 587 in air rifle. Junior Michael Dietz finished with an 1163 for third place in the overall individual standings after scoring a 586 in air rifle and a 577 in smallbore. Senior Mackenzie Van Patten rounded out the top-four Gamecocks with a mark of 1161. She claimed medalist honors in air rifle with a 593 and carded a 568 in smallbore. Junior Owen Goad rounded out the team score with an 1155 combined tally.
The Gamecocks return to action this weekend, traveling to Murray, Kentucky to face the Racers of Murray State.
