Gamecock Rifle Tops Morehead State After Season-Best Aggregate Mark

MURRAY, Ky. – The Jacksonville State rifle team turned in its best aggregate score of the season on Saturday against Morehead State in Murray, Kentucky.
The Gamecocks fired a 4686 and edged the Eagles by seven marks inside the Racers' range. MSU posted a round of 4679. JSU scored a 2370 in air rifle and added a 2316 in smallbore.
Sophomore Kim Jettenberg was the top individual after carding an 1187 on Saturday. Jettenberg registered a 596 in air rifle and followed that feat with a 591 in smallbore. Senior Mackenzie Van Patten rounded out the top-five on the individual leaderboard, placing fifth after a final tally of 1166. She placed second in air rifle with a 594 and carded a 572 in smallbore. Senior Michael Dietz and sophomore Lars Lilleng finished seventh and eighth respectively. Both recorded a final score of 1165.
Junior Kalia Jones rounded out JSU's air rifle total with a 590, while senior Owen Goad capped off the Gamecocks' smallbore score with a 573.
JSU will travel to Dahlonega, Georgia to face North Georgia in two weeks.
