
JSU Rifle Falls To Murray State in NCAA Sectional Tune Up

OXFORD, Miss. – The Jacksonville State rifle team prepped for the NCAA Rifle Sectional match with a neutral site meeting with Murray State, hosted by the University of Mississippi on Sunday.
The Gamecocks finished with a 4635 after firing a 2287 in smallbore and a 2348 in air rifle. The Racers accumulated a 4680 final mark after a 2318 in smallbore and a 2362 in air rifle.
Jax State was led by junior Owen Goad's aggregate score of 1164. Goad finished fourth overall which was bolstered by a second-place finish in smallbore. He turned in a 580 in smallbore and added a 584 in air rifle. Junior Michael Dietz finished sixth on the individual leaderboard after recording an 1157. Junior Mackenzie Van Patten added an 1153 and placed seventh, while freshman Lars Lilleng finished ninth with an 1149.
JSU returns to the Ole Miss campus next weekend for the NCAA Rifle Sectional match on February 20.
