JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State men's tennis team earned its third win in a row Wednesday with a 6-1 victory over Chattanooga.

The Gamecocks (5-1) allowed the Mocs (0-3) just one singles win while sweeping the three doubles sets. Freshman
Maj Tomac remained undefeated with a win at No. 4, while both
Aljaz Kaplja and
Joaquin Vallejo each improved to 4-1 for the season.

Jax State took the first point with the doubles win, highlighted by a 6-3 victory at No. 1 by Kaplja and
Thomas Norwood. The tandem is now 4-1 in doubles action with all four wins coming in the first position.

Tomac's win over Peyton Gatti in straight sets (6-2, 6-2) was the first point of singles play, Kaplja won 6-3 in both sets over Kerim Hyatt at No. 3.

The Mocs struck with a point at No. 6 with Jacob Marshall winning 6-2, 7-6 over
Jordi Blanchar, but the Gamecocks sealed the win with
Guillermo Agost topping Turner Voges in straight sets at No. 2.

Thomas Norwood won at No. 5 by retirement, and Vallejo won in a three-set thriller over Tomas Rodriguez at No. 1 to round out the scoring.

Jax State returns to action Saturday, Feb. 27 in Montgomery, Ala., at Alabama State. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
