JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State women's basketball team will close out the regular season at home against North Alabama on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 3:15 p.m.
Prior to Saturday's contest, the Gamecocks will recognize six seniors as part of Senior Day. Graduate student
Kiana Johnson leads the senior class with a program-record 128 games played and 101 starts. Johnson joined the program in 2017.
Kennedy Gavin,
Kyra Williams,
Imari Martin,
Shawnta Shaw and
Kaiya Burnett round out the senior class as each began their JSU career during the 2020-21 season.
Saturday will mark the 44
th all-time meeting between the Gamecocks and Lions. JSU leads the all-time series 23-19 and is 14-7 in Jacksonville.
Tournament seedings are locked in for both the Gamecocks and the Lions as each have clinched a first-round bye. JSU is the No. 1 seed from the West while UNA is the No. 2 seed.
North Alabama enters the final game of the regular season 13-14 overall and 8-7 in the league while JSU is 21-6 and 12-3.
JSU defeated the Lions 72-69 earlier this season as the Gamecocks held a large advantage on the boards, 49-36.
Kennedy Gavin led the way with 15 points.

Imari Martin leads JSU on the offensive end this season with 11.5 points per game as the Gamecocks are the third-ranked scoring offense in the ASUN at 67.9 points per game. UNA is the second-raned scoring offense in the league at 70.2 points per game, led by Julia Strachan with 12.3 points per game.

Following the conclusion of the regular season, the team will be seeded No. 1 in the West and will play at home at least through the semifinals. Tickets for the tournament will go on sale on Saturday, Feb. 26.
Tickets for the quarterfinals and semifinals will be $10 for adults and $5 for children between the ages of 3-18. Season ticket packages for the 2021-22 season do not include postseason tickets, so all fans must purchase tickets to the ASUN Tournament.
