JSU is allowing just 58.4 points per game to its opponents, good enough for fifth in the league. The Gamecocks are the only team in the ASUN that ranks in the top-five in both scoring offense and scoring defense. JSU is 11-0 when holding its opponents to under 60 points and 8-0 when scoring 70 or more.
Under the direction of point guard Nekiyah Thompson, JSU remains one of the top-five teams in the country in turnovers per game with just 11.4 per game on average this season. Thompson is sixth in the ASUN with 3.9 assists per game and leads the league with a 2.65 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Jacksonville is one of the worst offensive teams in the ASUN with just 59.7 points per game, led by Taylor Hawks with 10.9 points per game and 2.6 assists per game. Defensively the Dolphins are third, allowing just 57.2 points per game which has helped them to a 12-7 overall record and 5-3 mark in the league. JU was defeated, 84-68 last time out against North Alabama. Hawks led the squad with 11 points. One of JU's defensive bright spots this season is forcing turnovers. They are second in the league at 20.1 turnovers forced per game but commit 16 per game. JSU turns the ball over fewer than nearly anyone in the country at just 11.4 per game. Hawks is a familiar name to Gamecock fans as she is a member of the 1,000-point club at JSU after a four-year career. Hawks transferred to JU after the 2020-21 season for her final year of eligibility.
Against North Florida, JSU won the rebounding battle, 40-34, and are 12-0 on the season when doing so. Jacksonville is the worst rebounding team in the league at 33.4 per game.
