JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State beach volleyball team closed out the final day of the Governor's Beach Invitational with a pair of losses.
 
JSU fell 4-1 to host Austin Peay State University to start the day, 4-1, before falling to UT Martin 5-0 to close out the day.
 
Freshmen Brooklyn Schiffli and Paulina Lindberg earned their first win of the season, 21-14, 21-17, against Austin Peay in the fifth flight.
 
The pairs of Schiffli/Lindberg and Erin Carmichael/Lena Kindermann each earned wins over the weekend for the Gamecocks.
 
JSU will return to the sand on Thursday, Mar. 17, against Chattanooga in a dual match on the road, beginning at 2 p.m.
