JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State beach volleyball team dropped a pair of matches against Chattanooga, 4-1, and 3-2, Wednesday afternoon at the South Beach Volleyball courts in Anniston, Ala.
The pairing of
Claire Ochs and
Kylee Quigley finished the day with wins in each of the dual matches. The duo earned a 2-1 win,
16-21, 21-18, 20-18, after falling behind 1-0, in the first match of the day. In match two, against the same pair from Chattanooga, Ochs and Quigley added a 2-0 win,
21-16, 21-16. The first flight pair earned the only win for JSU in the first match and was one of two total points in the second match.
In the last flight of the day, Lena Kinderman and
Erin Carmichael defeated the Mocs 2-1,
21-18, 18-21, 15-10, in the third flight.
Prior to Wednesday's matches, the Gamecocks celebrated four outgoing seniors;
Lena Kindermann,
Peyton Pauze,
Bethany Randall, and
Bailey Nelson.
JSU will return to action on Friday, April 15, in the Austin Peay Tournament. JSU will face the Governors at 10 a.m. and UT Martin at 2 p.m.
