OXFORD, Miss. – The Jacksonville State rifle team turned in an aggregate mark of 4658 on Saturday against the University of Mississippi in the first of two outings on the weekend.
The Gamecocks fired a 2360 in air rifle and added a 2298 in smallbore. The Rebels finished 38 marks ahead of Jax State with a final score of 4696. Ole Miss produced a 2370 in air rifle and posted a 2326 in smallbore.
Sophomore
Frans Rasmusson led Jax State's squad with an 1140 to finish in the top-five of the overall leaderboard. He fired a 591 in air rifle and a 579 in smallbore. Freshman
Jenny Ek paced Jax State in air rifle with a 592. Senior
Sam Burrow matched Rasmuson with a 591 in air rifle. Sophomore Annie Innotti and senior
Kim Jettenberg added a 583 and 573 respectively.
Senior
Clark McWhorter bolstered the smallbore mark with a 575. Burrow and Ek carded scores of 574 and 570 respectively.
Jax State concludes the double match weekend on Sunday against former Ohio Valley Conference foe UT Martin in Murray, Kentucky on the Murray State campus.
