
16th-Ranked Gamecocks Open Season at 17th-Ranked Morehead State

Jax State has won three-in-a-row over the Eagles
JACKSONVILLE — The 16th-ranked Jax State rifle team will open its 2025-26 season on the road against former Ohio Valley rival No. 17 Morehead State on Saturday, October 11. The match is slated to begin at 7 a.m. Central Time.
Jax State returns six student-athletes from last year's squad in Jenny Ek, Annie Iannotti, Frans Rasmusson, Emmajames Stanton, Alex Watts, and Debi Weiser. In addition, two international freshmen in Maja Pederson and Akos Marta join the squad, as well as Lars Lilleng returning to the squad from the 2023-24 season.
The last three meetings between the Gamecocks and the Eagles have come down to the wire. In the first meeting between the two in 2023-24, the Gamecocks took the match by one point at 4672-4671. In the second meeting of 2023-24, and in 2024-25, the Gamecocks won by 20 points, at 4682-4662 in the first meeting and 4675-4655 in the second meeting.
Morehead State is already 2-0 on the season after picking up a pair of wins over Mount Aloysius last weekend. Morehead State's Adrianna Beard tied her personal best with a 595 with 48 centers, while Trey Myers established a new personal best of 595 with 48 centers as well.
