
Solomon Brings Home CUSA Freshman Of The Week Honors

DALLAS, Tex. – Charlee Solomon has been tabbed as the CUSA Freshman of the Week thanks to her efforts in last weekend's matches against Missouri State.
Solomon is coming off an incredible weekend against the Bears where she accounted for 100 assists on 11.11 assists per set, 20 digs on 2.22 digs per set, 11 kills, and nine service aces. In Friday's 3-2 win, Solomon posted career-highs in assists with 56 and aces with five. Solomon had 44 assists on Saturday and led the team with four aces.
"So happy for Charlee to break through and get a freshman of the week award," head coach Derek Schroeder said. "She is a gamer and her power of will is a big reason we have won the matches we have won this year."
Solomon leads CUSA with 652 total assists. Her 9.18 assists per set ranks third in the league. She also is tied for third in the conference with 28 aces on the year. Solomon also has 173 digs on 2.44 digs per set and 54 kills this season.
The freshman setter joins libero Luci Wilkinson as the two Gamecocks to bring home a weekly award so far.
