Women’s Golf Grinds Through Competitive Field at Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate

Jax State took 14th in their second tournament of the 2025-26 season at the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Tennessee.
The Gamecocks posted a score of 891 or 39-over as a team through the 54-hole tournament. After a difficult first round which saw the team post 304 (+20) during the first round, they bounced back with a 290 (+6) during Monday's second round and concluded with a 297 (+13) on Tuesday.
The hosts won the event, overcoming a three-shot deficit to Oregon State heading into the final round by posting a 273 (-11) to win by nine shots.
Sophomore Rebekka Stutley and senior Ebby Somers tied for 48th on the individual leaderboard at +10. Stutley posted rounds of 77, 72, and 74 on the Par 71 course. Somers opened with a 76, followed by a 73 on Monday and a 74 on Tuesday.
Freshman Julie Kleppe was in 52nd at +13 with rounds of 79, 75, and 72. Lara El Chaib also placed 52nd with rounds of 72, 76, and 78.
Rachel Camp rounded out the group with a 61st-place finish at +15. Camp bounced back from an 81 on Sunday with a 70 on Monday which saw her answer a run of three bogeys with an eagle and a birdie to get into red numbers. She closed out the week with a 77 on Tuesday.
The team returns to action on Monday at the Golf Iconic Classic in Las Cruces, N.M.
