Women’s Golf Heads to The Ally

The Jax State women's golf team returns to the course for their third tournament of the fall with a trip to Old Waverly Golf Club in Mississippi for The Ally, hosted by Mississippi State.
Jax State took seventh in their season debut at the Pirate Collegiate Classic and followed it up with an 11th-place showing in a loaded field at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational hosted by Kentucky.
Lara El Chaib leads the team in scoring average at 71.67 and has averaged 69 in her first rounds this year. The junior leads the team with 23 birdies and has a team-best 66 pars. Freshman Julie Waldo holds a 72.67 average after her first three collegiate rounds. Sophomore Julie Ulvenes Kleppe is second on the team in birdies with 20.
The tournament begins Monday with a 36-hole day on the 6,428-yard, Par-72 course at Old Waverly. The final round will take place on Tuesday.
Five SEC teams, a pair from the Big XII, Virginia Tech, and Indiana are among the 17 teams in the field this weekend.
