
Cook Earns All-America Honors from Associated Press

JACKSONVILLE—Jax State running back Cam Cook was selected to the Associated Press All-America Third Team this afternoon.
A total of 52 media members which also vote on the AP Top 25 submitted ballots for the three All-America teams.
The junior from Round Rock, Texas leads the Football Bowl Subdivision in total rushing at 1,659 yards and is second in rushing per game at 127.6.
Cook was named the Conference USA Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, and a first-team all-conference selection in his first year with the Gamecocks. He is also second nationally in all-purpose per game at 149.26. In eight of his 13 games, Cook has averaged better than five yards per carry.
The Gamecocks will play in the IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl tomorrow at 8 p.m. Central on ESPN, marking the third Bowl game in as many seasons as an FBS member.
