JACKSONVILLE—Jax State Head Football Coach
Charles Kelly is bringing back a familiar face as the program's new offensive line coach.
Three-year starting center Adam Ross, who spent the last two seasons at Murray State as assistant head coach/co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, takes over as the new offensive line coach.
Ross graduated from Jax State in 2002 and spent 11 seasons on staff, working his way up from a student assistant to offensive line coach in 2011 under Jack Crowe winning three Ohio Valley Conference championships. A total of 11 offensive linemen earned All-OVC honors during that time with four earning All-America honors.
He spent two seasons as West Alabama's offensive line coach, highlighted by leading the Gulf South in rushing in 2014 with nearly 230 yards per game and were among the national leaders in fewest sacks allowed.
In 2016, he coached at Chattanooga, mentoring All-Americans Corey Levin and Jacob Revis. Prior to Murray State, Ross was offensive line coach, run game coordinator, and co-offensive coordinator at Richmond where he coached All-American Ryan Coll.
As a player, Ross was a two-time Academic All-Southland selection. During his senior season, Jax State led the Southland in rushing and were ninth nationally.
Jax State is coming off a 9-5 season with a win in the IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl and a second consecutive appearance in the Air National Guard Conference USA Football Championship.
