Men’s Golf Seventh in Spring Debut

Jax State took seventh at the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate, hosted by Louisiana at Reflection Bay Golf Course in Henderson, Nev.
The Gamecocks were under par as a team in two of the three rounds, finishing the tournament at nine-under par as a team. Boise State won the event with a score of -23.
Jax State finished second in the field in Par 5 scoring at 28-under and an average of 4.53. The team posted three eagles in three rounds which was tied for second-most in the field of 11 teams.
Leading the way was Ryley Heath in a tie for ninth with a six-under 54-hole total of 210. Heath shot even-par 72 in the first round, followed by a 69 in the second and a 69 in the third. Heath was the third-best Par 4 player in the field with a 3.9 average and a total of -3 on those holes.
Ben Shedd was in 18th with a total of 213 (-3). After a 74 in the first round, Shedd came back with a 69 in the second with the lone bogey on the card coming on the second hole. Shedd had an eagle in the third round on the Par 5, 528-yard 14th and finished the round with a 70.
Ricardo Matho was 40th with a three-over total of 219. He found himself at the top of the leaderboard after a first-round eagle on the Par 5, 596-yard 12th and finished the round at one-under. He closed the weekend with rounds of 73 and 75 and was among the leaders in the field in total pars.
Stanley Campbell posted a total of 220 (+4) with totals of 74, 72, and 74. He carded an eagle on the 561-yard, Par 5 ninth in the second round. Cole Lindeman rounded out the lineup in 47th with a total of 221 (+5) with the highlight coming in Wednesday's final round when he posted a four-under round of 68. He played the final eight holes of the day at -5 with just two bogeys on the card. He shot 79 in the first round and bounced back with a 74 on Tuesday.
Next up for the Gamecocks is the Seminole Intercollegiate in Tallahassee, Fla. starting March 15th.
