Jax State took 13
th in their second tournament of the spring, battling changing weather conditions and a delay at the Seminole Intercollegiate in Tallahassee, Fla.
The Gamecocks posted a 10-over round of 298 to open the tournament, followed by rounds of 304 and 307 for a 54-hole total of 909. The host Seminoles won the tournament with an eight-under score of 856.
Junior
Stanley Campbell had the best tournament on the team, playing as an individual. He placed fourth on the leaderboard, highest among all individuals, with a three-under total of 213. After a four-over start to the tournament, Campbell caught fire in the second round with a four-hole stretch where he recorded three birdies and an eagle. He finished the second with a five-under 67 and posted 70 in the final round.
Freshman
Tyler Neidel took seventh in the field in his second tournament of the season with an even-par total of 216. He was fourth in the field in Par 4 scoring at even, and was tied for second in the field in total pars with 39 in 54 holes. He posted an even-par round of 72 to start the tournament, followed by a 73 in the second, then went into red numbers in the final round with a 71, posting three consecutive birdies during his final four holes of the tournament.
Fellow freshman
Will Drake tied for 58
th with a three-round total of 230 (+14). He opened with a 75 in the first round, carding an eagle on the 560-yard Par 5 fourth, then a birdie on the Par 3 fifth to get to two under before running into trouble on the eighth and ninth. Drake closed with rounds of 77 and 78 to close out the tournament.
Senior
Ryley Heath was a shot back in a tie for 66
th with a total of 231 (75-77-79) and sophomore
Ben Shedd was at 232 in a tie for 78
th (76-77-79).
Cole Lindeman rounded out the lineup with a total of 244 (78-83-83).
