Gamecocks Open Samford Invitational with Strong Showing

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Jax State men's tennis opened play at the Samford Invitational with a strong performance Friday at Samford University, collecting five singles victories against Kennesaw State and a pair of doubles wins against host Samford.

The Gamecocks won five of the seven singles matches played against Kennesaw State, earning victories at the No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 7 positions.

Marko Milosavljevic picked up a win at No. 2 singles, while Aman Dahiya earned a victory on Court 3. Zach Murphy continued the strong showing with a win at No. 4, followed by Ilie Cazac at No. 5 and Yago Castellanos at No. 7.

Jax State also had a great showing in doubles competition against Samford, taking two of the four matches played. The duo of Murphy and Milosavljevic earned the victory on Court 2, while Joao Barreto and Cazac picked up the win on Court 3.

Jax State is back on the court Saturday at 9 a.m. to take on Lipscomb in singles, then face Knnesaw State at 12 p.m. in doubles.
