Gamecocks Close Samford Invitational with Solid Sunday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Jacksonville State men's tennis closed out the Samford Invitational in impressive fashion on Sunday, winning six of eight singles matches against host Samford. Jax State also picked up two doubles victories against Lipscomb to cap the weekend.

"Very solid weekend," head coach Michael Helms said. "We won a lot of matches, but more importantly, I loved the way we competed. I always talk about being third-day tough, and they showed that today. We certainly have some things to clean up, but the guys did a great job competing all weekend."

At singles No. 1, David Krasner picked up another win to lead the way for Jax State. Marko Milosavljevic followed with a victory at No. 2, while Aman Dahiya earned the win at No. 3.

The Gamecocks continued their strong showing with Ilie Cazac winning at No. 4 and Zach Murphy taking his match at No. 5. Joao Barretto rounded out the singles victories with a win at No. 7.

Jax State also won two of four doubles matches against Lipscomb. Murphy and Milosavljevic teamed up for a victory at No. 1 doubles, while Krasner and Yago Castellanos added another win for the Gamecocks at No. 3.
