JSU CAREER
2012-13: Appeared in nine games for the Gamecocks as a junior…made his debut in the season opener vs. Reinhardt and had a block in the game…scored his first points against Alabama A&M on Nov. 15 with a pair of free throws…connected on 3-pointers at Oregon on Nov. 19 and at Tennessee State on Jan. 17…played a season-high 16 minutes in the opener vs. Reinhardt.

PRIOR TO JSU
Played two seasons at Meridian (Miss.) Community College under head coach Nathan Courtney…averaged just over 14 points per game for the Eagles.

HIGH SCHOOL
Prepped at Brewbacker Technology Magnet High School in Montgomery, Ala., under head coach Chauncey Shines…scored 13 points in the 2010 ASHAA Class 4A State Championship game loss to Ramsay High School…also lettered in soccer and track.

Born on April 12, 1991, in Manchester, Jamaica…the son of Richard and Mellissa Smitz…has one younger brother, Dante’…is majoring in exercise science at JSU.
