The 2020-21 season with mark the sixth year for Eryc Pittman at JSU, after joining Rick Pietri's staff prior to the 2015-16 season.

Pittman comes to Jax State after one season on the men’s hoops staff at Brewton-Parker College.  Pittman’s duties on Rick Pietri’s staff include scouting opponents, recruiting and travel necessities.  He also is charged with all the JSU’s equipment needs.

In his first season on the floor with Jax State, he assisted the perimeter players.  As a team the Gamecocks led the Ohio Valley Conference in three-point field goal shooting percentage defense, while transitioning that into one of the top three-point shooting teams in the league, averaging 6.0 treys per game.

He was instrumental in JSU’s 2015 recruiting class that featured four new student athletes on the squad, including a pair of junior college transfers.

Pittman, a native of Akron, Ohio, came to Jax State after one season at Brewton-Parker College and one season at Belmont Abbey College.  In 2014-15, Pittman helped guide the Barons to their first winning season in recent history with a 15-14 overall mark and claimed the program’s first Southern States Athletic Association Tournament win after topping Blue Mountain College.

Before moving to the Mount Vernon, Georgia-based school prior to the start of the 2014-15 season, Pittman served one season on the women’s basketball staff at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina.  He oversaw recruiting and operations for head coach Jason Williams, who served as an assistant coach at JSU for the 2012-13 season.

Pittman’s connection to the Ohio Valley Conference dates back to his time at Eastern Kentucky.  While in Richmond working towards his master’s degree, he was a manager for the EKU men’s team under head coach Jeff Neubauer.  While at EKU, the men’s team finished the 2012-13 campaign 25-10 and 12-4 in the league.  The 25 wins set a new program standard for wins in a single season.

While in Richmond, Pittman also spent time in the high school ranks as a varsity assistant coach at Model High School.  MHS won its first Region 11 Championship and advanced to the Elite Eight of the Kentucky State Tournament.

Before entering the coaching profession, he helped co-found with a personal longtime friend “Ladies First non-profit organization” in his hometown of Akron, Ohio and worked in the financial field in Ohio and Georgia.

Pittman is a 2008 graduate of Hampton University and holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting.  He earned his master’s degree in sports administration from EKU in 2012.

Pittman is the son of Tony and Patricia Pittman-Henry.
