2016-17: Appeared in 22 games during her freshman year as a Gamecock … averaged 1.7 points, 0.7 rebounds, 0.4 assists in 8.5 minutes off the bench … made her collegiate debut at Florida State on Nov. 11 … scored her first points in 10 minutes of action at Kennesaw State on Nov. 14 … scored a career high 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting, including 3 of 5 from behind the 3-point arc, against Southeast Missouri on Feb. 1.
 
HIGH SCHOOL
Joined the Gamecocks after one season at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida…a native of Atlanta, Georgia and spent time at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School before moving to Brooklyn, New York to attend Medgar Evers College Prep as a junior in 2014-15…while at Medgar Evers College Prep, Towells averaged 17.5 points per game and scored 34 points in one contest in December of 2014…against Grand Street Campus, she drilled five three pointers and made seven free throws…enrolled at the highly-competitive IMG Academy in 2015-16 and played for Shell Dailey… was a member of the Under Armour High School IMG Academy 2015-16 roster…at the IMG Academy, Towells averaged 12.5 points per game, 3.5 assists per game and pulled down 2.5 rebounds per contest…she is one of four players from the roster to ink with an NCAA Division I program…her teammates Iho Lopez signed with Florida State, while Annie Diouf and Sydney Morang will attend Georgia Tech and Florida respectively…attended the 2016 Maya Moore Girls Elite Skills Academy in Atlanta last March and is rated a three-star prospect by ESPN…in 2013, Towells was selected to the USA Basketball Women's U16 National Team trials.
