"It was another solid effort from (David) Nilsson, who beat a pretty dang good field by nearly a full minute over the 8k distance," said
Steve Ray. "What can you say about David, that was an awesome effort and George continued his steady effort that he has come to be known for."

Host Alabama-Huntsville won the men's team title with 54 points followed by Alabama State with 67 points, West Florida with 68 points while Valdosta State was fifth.
Ericka Stam was the top finisher for the JSU women, finishing in eighth with a 19:47 5K time, leading JSU to a third place finish out of 13 schools.

Veronica Citireag ran a 20:22 in 19th. Kailey Jensen was just behind with a 21:21 and Latasha Sturkie posted a 23:11 to round out the JSU top five.
"I am happy for our girls as that is the first trophy we have picked up in several years" Ray said. "If Danielle had been with us I'm pretty sure we could have taken Alabama State for second, but we cannot touch UAB at this point. Ericka and Ashley continue to impress and I feel that they are both on their way to being two of the better distance runners to come through this program".
