JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville State's women's basketball team will begin the second half of the Ohio Valley Conference schedule on the road in Cape Girardeau, Mo. against Southeast Missouri State on Thursday night.

The JSU-SEMO contest, scheduled to tip at 5:15 p.m. at the Show Me Center, will be available to fans through a WebCast provided by www.KFVS12.com. The game will also be available on the Gamecock Sports Network with Mike Parris describing all the action.

This weekend's pair of OVC match ups is the final leg of a four-game road trip for the Gamecocks. Following the SEMO affair, JSU (7-13, 4-5 OVC) will trek to Eastern Illinois for a Saturday contest. Jax State split its two conference tilts last weekend as it topped Tennessee State in Nashville, Tenn. before falling to Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tenn.

JSU will be looking for its first season sweep of the Redhawks since the first meeting between the two programs in 2004. The Gamecocks ousted SEMO 62-48 earlier this season at Pete Mathews Coliseum. The 14-point win snapped a 12-game losing streak to SEMO along with halting a seven-game losing streak. Junior Brittany Wiley led the Red and White in scoring with 16 points. Senior Zenobia Pitts sparked the JSU defensive effort with a career high seven steals and added 15 points. SEMO's Katie Norman led all scorers with 18 points.

SEMO (7-12, 3-6 OVC) enters the final weekend of January in the hunt for one of the eight OVC Tournament spots after turning back Eastern Kentucky and Murray State. The win at MSU was the Redhawks' first road win of the season, snapping a 10-game losing streak.

Wiley, Jax State's leading scorer, will look to get back on track in the scoring column after having her 11-game double-digit scoring marks snapped with just five points at APSU. The Carrollton, Ga.-native scorched the nets at TSU with a career high 30 points. Senior post player Candace Carmine made the most of her first start of the season with a team-best 16 points in the setback at APSU. Junior Destiny Lane registered her first career double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds last Saturday.

JSU returns home the following weekend playing host to Morehead State (Feb. 3) and Eastern Kentucky (Feb. 5). After playing just two home games in the month of January, the Gamecocks will play four of their final seven games at Pete Mathews Coliseum on the JSU campus.
