
Gamecock Women Finish 7th at Blue Raider Invite

FINAL RESULTS
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Jacksonville State women's golf team shot a 318 in Tuesday's final round of the Middle Tennessee Blue Raider Invitational to finish in seventh place in the 54-hole event.
The Gamecocks were led in the two-day event on the par-72, 6,177-yard Old Fort Golf Course by sophomore Maya Parsons, who finished 10th in the 93-player field. As a team, JSU claimed the seventh-place finish in a field of 18 teams. Host Middle Tennessee won the event for the second-straight season.
Parsons, a native of Whitby, Ontario, entered the day tied for the lead but carded an 80 in her final 18 holes. She finished the three rounds with at eight over with a 224, seven shots behind medalist Cassie Rushing of Southern Illinois.
Freshman Melani Sisto had the low round of the day for the Gamecocks with a 78. The native of Rosario, Argentina, tied for 48th on the individual leaderboard, thanks to a three-round score of 233.
Seniors Ornella Arrizon (74-75-83-232) and Luz Armijo-Fernandez (79-74-79-232) tied for 41st for the Gamecocks, while freshman Melania Bajo Geijo (79-75-81-235) tied for 56th to round out the JSU lineup.
The Gamecocks will wrap up their fall schedule on Oct. 28-29 in Kiawah Island, S.C., at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate.
