Gamecock Women Finish 10th at Amelia Island Collegiate

FINAL RESULTS
FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. – The Jacksonville State women's golf team shot a final-round 318 on Tuesday to finish 10th in the Jacksonville University Amelia Island Collegiate.
The Gamecocks fiinshed the 54-hole event with a 917 to finish in the top 10 on the par-72, 6,029-yard Amelia National Golf Club. Florida International won the 14-team tournament by 12 shots over Kennesaw State by carding a three-round score of 859.
Jacksonville State got a three-over 75 from sophomore Melania Bajo Geijo on Tuesday, the Gamecocks' low round in the final 18 holes. Junior Maya Parsons led the Gamecocks over the event, tying for 23rd with a 54-hole score of 227. The Whitby, Ontario, native shot 77 in the final round to finish in the top 25 of the 78-player field.
Freshman Anne Albrecht shot 83 on Tuesday to finish with a 229 and in a tie for 32nd, while freshman Angie Varona's Tuesday 83 gave her a total score of 232 and tied her for 41st in her first collegiate tournament.
Bajo Geijo wrapped up a three-round total of 235 to move into a tie for 46th, while sophomore Melani Sisto finshed with an 83 and in a tie for 50th with a total score of 83.
The Gamecocks return to the links on Sunday, when they begin play at he USA Invitational at Mobile's Azalea City Golf Club.
