Gamecocks Wrap Up Regular Season With Eighth Place Finish

FINAL RESULTS
STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – The Jacksonville State women's golf team shot a final-round 311 on Tuesday to finish eighth in the John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate.
The Gamecocks finished the 54-hole event with a 920 to finish one shot behind Elon in seventh. Campbell won the 16-team event on the par-72, 6,164-yard Creek-Lake layout at the Eagle's Landing Country Club.
Freshman Anne Albrecht led the Gamecocks all week, including a four-over 76 on Tuesday that gave her a three-day total of 223. She played the final six holes at two under to rally for a 10th-place finish in the 90-player field. Maria Palacios of Georgia State, Amira Alexander of Georgia and Campbell's Kaylin Yost tied atop the individual leaderboard.
Junior Maya Parsons tied for 32nd after a final-round 79 gave her a 232 for the event. Sophomore Melania Bajo Geijo's final-round 78 tied her for 39th with a 234, while sophomore Melani Sisto used a 79 on Tuesday to finaish with a 236 and in a tie for 47th. Freshman Angie Varona tied for 49th after a final-round 78.
The Gamecocks are finished with regular season play and will now turn their focus to the Ohio Valley Conference Championship on April 21. The conference tournament will be held on The Fighting Joe Course at The Shoals on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Muscle Shoals, Ala.
