Wednesday's JSU-UAB Baseball Game in Birmingham Rained Out

JACKSONVILLE – For the second time this season, Jacksonville State's contest with UAB in Birmingham has been rained out due to the anticipated rain that will move through the area on Wednesday night.

Wednesday night's contest was a makeup date from the originally-scheduled date on February 23.  No makeup date has been set between the two schools.  The Gamecocks held on for an 11-10 win on Tuesday night at Rudy Abbott Field as the Blazers rallied from an 11-4 deficit to get within a run in the final two innings.

JSU will now turn its attention to this weekend's Ohio Valley Conference series against the Racers of Murray State.  JSU, after being idle from conference play last weekend, will look to keep intact its nine-game winning streak in OVC play.  The Gamecocks have swept their first three OVC weekend series against SIU Edwardsville, Austin Peay and Eastern Illinois.  The Racers will enter the weekend play at 5-7 in league play after winning last weekend's series against EIU.  Last season, the Racers rallied for a pair of wins to claim the series played at Reagan Field.

Friday's series opener is set for 6 p.m. at Rudy Abbott Field.  The series continues on Saturday and Sunday with first pitch set for 1 p.m. on both days.  Admission is free for JSU students and all fans ages 18 and under.
